    Jaclyn,
Great job on this very important topic. I am going to recommend it to my providers for they and their patients to watch.

I do use Lidocaine Jelly during flares or when I have pain or discomfort. It really can stop the pain cycle! Prescription Lidocaine Jelly in the US on many RX plans can be expensive. However Dr. Erin Foster found a way around that. She prescribes 100 ml bottle of Lidocaine Hydrochloride Oral Topical Solution, 2% .

Hi, Cathy. Thanks so much for your kind word and for sharing this very helpful tip from Dr. Foster – super helpful for USA-based folks <#

Hello:-) During a non-flare time do you recommend using the FemmeSense Balm 1x daily (or more?) as a barrier to protect the area as well as using it during flare times? Thank you!

    • Jaclyn Lanthier

Everyone is different, so I can only say that for me, in remission I use FemmeSense balm or coconut oil 2-5 x per day, depending on how active I am, how dry I am, etc. I haven’t flared in ages, so I would play it by ear based on my symptoms, and potentially increase more when using the bathroom.

Hello! Do you recommend keeping something like FemmeSense Balm on the area 1x a day (or more?) during non flare times to keep the area protected as well as using it during flare times? Thank you!
